Day 87 Today's reading: Jacob 7:21-Enos 1:10

Question of the day: Heavenly Father is quick to forgive our sins when we repent. So what do you think it means when Enos "wrestled with God for the remission of his sins?"

I think he wanted and needed a conclusive answer, as the record holder he may have felt as though he was not prepared or not quite living as a prophet of God should. So he went with a determination to be free from who he had been and seeking a life different than before. He also seemed to see that if he could make such progress personally he wanted the same for the Nephite people.

He mentions hunting beasts in the forest. 2 Nephi 5 talks about the different lifestyles of the Nephites versus the Lamanites, Enos was doing one of those things characteristic of a Lamanite, not a Nephite.

Jacobs words in Jacob 7:26 were quite depressing, what about Enos words in Enos 1:3 - the joy of the Saints. Interesting contrast here between Jacob lamenting on such a tough life.
