Question of the day: What do these verses teach us about the importance of baptism with the correct authority?
I frequently find that my mind is not on the question that was presented but on other things that occur to me. Contention is of the devil; this caught my attention. And the fact that it is right in the middle of the Lords description of His gospel. This comes in the middle of learning about baptism in the church. I assume that the contention the Lord was most concerned about was that of those contending on points of the gospel. But I wonder too if there is any expectation of a broader application... Should we not work to eliminate contention in other contexts as well?
