1 Nephi 11:4 "believest" "tree"

Nephi wants to understand fully his Father's dream and so he ponders it.  While doing so he is caught away in a dream to a high mountain that he has never been to before.  Here an angel asks him what he wants.  He tells the angel that he wants to know his Father's dream.  The angel then asks, do you believe in the tree your father saw?  It seems a strange question.  Why wouldn't he believe?  In this case he seems to already believe and just wants to understand it more fully.  The cross references take us to a point where Laman and Lemuel ask the question, what does it mean?  Their belief in the tree and desire to understand it's meaning are much less than Nephi's. They want the easy way out, to receive a formulated answer from Nephi.  Nephi knows that a more complete answer is available from the God who knows all things.  This is the answer he wants.  Nephi delights in the word of God, and the feeling of the spirit that comes from seeking knowledge through the word of God is definitely most desirable.  It is not any different than how we should feel about the scriptures.
