I read verse 18 where Lehi begins to prophesy because of the spirit that filled him as he learned all that he did from the plates of brass. Here he prophesies that the plates of brass will go to all nations kindreds and tongues. When I first read it I was thinking about how all the prophets going forth really wanted their works to go to their posterity, the remnant of the Lamanites that would be left. Here Lehi isn't talking about those plates but about the brass plates that they just went to such great efforts to get. Later prophets would plead and covenant that their writings would be preserved. Both were preserved and provided. How blessed we are to have the various testaments of scripture.
