Covenant of the Book of Mormon - Title Page

One of the aspects of the Title Page that I have been thinking about over the last couple of days is the fact that the Book of Mormon is "Another Testament of Jesus Christ".  In the second paragraph of the Title Page we read, "...and that they may know the covenants of the Lord,..."  In the Bible Dictionary we read these words, "The same word [Covenant] is sometimes rendered "testament." And, "The gospel is so arranged that principles and ordinances are received by covenant placing the recipient under strong obligation and responsibility to honor the commitment.  I am, as you can tell, thinking about what makes the Book of Mormon a 'covenant', and in some ways I'm also asking how the Book of Ether contributes.  Whether right or wrong, I'm looking at the second page very literally and trying to evaluate what it could mean if it were just referring to the Book of Ether.  More specifically, I want to be able to enumerate and think clearly about the covenants outlined in the Book of Ether and the Book of Mormon as a whole.  I remind myself here that the Book of Mormon is the covenant.  We read in Doctrine and Covenants 84:57 the following: "And they shall remain under this condemnation until they repent and remember the new covenant, even the Book of Mormon and the former commandments which I have given them, no only to say, but to do according to that which I have written--"

I am searching to understand the covenants, commandments, principles and ordinances that are given in this sacred Book.  There are some basics that I know and that I will be more aware of such as, baptism, the promise that obedience to Gods laws will allow people in this land to prosper, the beattitudes as listed in 3 Nephi, and others.  But I hope to understand them better and to find it easier to implement them in my life.
