I do love chapter 25 because it is Nephi's summary of Isaiah and why it was included in his book. He teaches us that we will understand it in the last days. He testifies of Christ:
1. The Jews will one day realize that they no longer need to look for a Messiah, that Jesus Christ has already come and that he was rejected by their fathers. But that they can now come unto him and be saved and restored, and they will come.
2. We will all see that we can look upon him and be saved just as the children of Israel could look upon the serpent Moses raised up and be saved when they were bitten.
3. We are saved by 'grace' after all we can do. Work hard as we might we are always subject to His matchless mercy. What joy fills us/me when we can grab hold of that thought.
4. Everything we do is to help ourselves, those we love, and everyone around us come unto Christ. The whole purpose of the Church. We truly prophecy, preach, teach Jesus Christ so that everyone will know to whom they may look for a remission of their sins.
5. The law in and of itself, as provided by Moses, was dead, BUT, it pointed their hearts to Christ who had power to save. Knowing that the law itself was dead was a preparation to receive the higher law from Christ. If they believed that all existence depended on keeping the commandments alone they would not accept the Christ. And in the end the Jews were so hung up on the intricacy of the law that they were blinded from seeing their Savior before them and they crucified Him.
I testify that there is a God, who loves His children, and He provided a Savior that we could return to His presence. I know Jesus lived, loved and died for us and our sins that we could saved. He rose again on the third day to continue the work of salvation for all of Adam and Eve's posterity, conquering death, both physical and spiritual. I must have faith, hope, and charity to follow Him and to come unto Him. The covenants we make through His holy priesthood allow this to happen, if we let it.
