The Vision - 1 Nephi 14

Chapter 14 is the conclusion of what Nephi was permitted to write about the vision he saw. And like chapter 13 it appears to have a lot to do with our day. The chapter begins with a review of the coming forth of the gospel unto the gentiles and then continues with a description of the battle that will rage between two churches. There is the church of the devil and the church of the lamb of God.

The church of the devil is also known as the whore of all the earth. I believe that the church of the devil is made up of people and organizations that seek to do the will of satan, though they probably don't even realize that they are doing it for him. They think they are doing it for their own good, seeking power, influence, and money. But they do it with no regard for what is right nor for the care of their fellow-men. And thus even whole nations or governments are whore's within the church of the devil.

The other church is of course the church of the Lamb of God. Whose members are also throughout the world and gain power through their covenants.

Interesting that the Savior is the groom, and the church is the bridegroom, and that there is also a mother of all the whores -- another woman. The bridegroom and the mother of all the whores are in battle.

In the end Nephi is not permitted to write all that he saw. But we do learn that John the Revelator also saw this vision and would continue to write about these things. We also learn that there were others who saw this vision of "all things" and wrote what they saw and that these things were "sealed up".
