This was our back to school FHE and it was a good one. Dan and Nancy were with us and we enjoyed talking about how the priesthood was restored to the Earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Then Dan and I gave blessings to the boys in preparation for school. Addi also wanted a blessing so we gave her one as well. The Spirit was strong and I think the boys really appreciated it. We talked about the fact that they felt the Spirit and that that was how Heavenly Father confirmed truth and shows us that he loves us. I felt so blessed to be able to share these feelings with our family.
We also had a neat experience that morning. When we went to read the Book of Mormon, like we usually do I reminded Amanda to help the children to each read a verse. It seems important that we give everyone a chance to read and that that will help the children to pay closer attention. Amanda asked who wanted to read and Addi said she did. Amanda would say a phrase and then Addi would repeat it. She did a great job and she seemed so proud of herself. She was staring at me for approval the whole time. It made me so happy.
