1. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was organized on April 6, 1830. April 6th was the birth and death dates of the Lord Jesus Christ. There are a few different quotes listed in the Institute manual page 40.
2. We learn from D&C 20:68-69 that we must live the commandments to prepare to partake of the Sacrament. I was interested in the story that leads up to the receipt of D&C 27. Joseph Smith wanted to confirm his wife and the wife of Newel Knight since their recent baptism. As part of this meeting to confirm their wives they planned to partake of the sacrament. The Sacrament should always remind us of our own baptism and receipt of the Holy Ghost.
3. I don't know who I would be, or what I would be like without the church. The phrase has always seemed so cliche to me. But now that I really think about it, I'm guessing I would be like family members that I know, that are not members of the church. I wouldn't be able to take advantage of such great blessings as the Priesthood, temple ordinances, church meetings, word of wisdom, tithing, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants. So many pieces of my life that are influenced for the better by the church and the gospel. I can experience more from the church by giving up more of my worldly activities and participate more in activities offered by the church, such as Indexing, family history, my calling, home teaching, and so many other things.
