Well it's January 1 and true to our goal we read the Book of Mormon as a family. It's hard to keep the boys still but we read the whole chapter of Alma 48. we have the boys read verses by repeating after us. Amanda usually has good simple explanations of what is going on so that the boys can feel apart of what we are studying.
I love this chapter. It shows the contrast so clearly between righteous leaders and wicked leaders and their motivation. Captain Moroni's convictions are so clear and correct. There are some favorite verses in this chapter including vs 11-13 that describe Moroni's motivations and vs. 17 that say that if all men were like him the powers of hell would be shaken forever. It is the natural man in each of us that give him power
